Series consists of project and report files produced by the Archives of Ontario's Security Committee which was established in 1978 to evaluate security at the Archives of Ontario and make recommendations regarding various security aspects of the Archives' activities. Subjects covered by the records include security issues surrounding researchers' registration, retrieval and reproduction of records, reading room and stacks security, acquisitions, identification and protection of valuable records, and security training. Files include project and Committee reports, minutes of meetings of the Security Committee and the Archives Advisory Committee, memoranda, correspondence, staff questionnaires, background materials on archival security, and implementation plans.
